Student Drawings Vol. 9

Today is the first day of summer, which means I will not have new pictures until August. This batch of pictures is the last of what I got for this school year. Enjoy.

photo 2

Apparently this student was interrupted before he could add massive breasts to this ogre of a woman.

photo 4 This was a game called “Revenge of the Count”, a student cleverly renamed the game. I’m not sure why they pluralized the last word.

photo 5I don’t understand what “Blood CK” means.

photoThis guy is cool with some crazy-squiggly legs.

photo (1)Something makes me think that whoever wrote this is NOT 100% hood.

photo 2 (1) This graffiti made me realize for the first time ever that WTF is FTW backwards. Did anyone else realize this? It’s a life-changing discovery.

photo 2I am sure this is in response to my “Fruit Explosion” air freshener in my room.

photo 3

I like this. Maybe I will use it in an argument someday.

photo 4 I do not know Spongebob very well but this face makes me think of him.

photo 5I would have rather had this student graph what they were supposed to be graphing but the picture is nice nonetheless. Plus, no nose.

photoI hope you all have a wonderful summer whether you have to work or not. Enjoy the weather and I will post again next school year.

Student Drawings Vol. 8

Here are a few more pictures. I hope to have one last post before the end of the school year. I have some student projects due next week that will provide some nice material for another post.

photo 2photo 3

The two pictures above and the one below show some portraits drawn of me this week. There is a Happy Mr. Haren, a Psychotic Mr. Haren, and the one below which is somewhat flattering. I informed that student that my face is much rounder and my hair line is further back than that.

photo 5 If only all graffiti was this friendly looking.

photo Zombies and werewolves? I love the zombie part, but werewolves? Really? Werewolves are lame.

Student Drawings Vol. 7

Well it has been awhile since I updated this. There are a few pictures below plus students responses to a survey I gave them. I got to see that all students see in me is my beard.

photo (1)This is a picture one student drew of what he thought another student would look like 30 years from now. I don’t really see the resemblance but it is a great picture nonetheless.

photo 2 (1)

“Haren likes honey, berries, and fresh air. Between his leisurely strolls along the beach he likes to math. We have tests, but its kay cause inb4 tests you teach it.”

This is an ongoing joke with a couple of my students. They think I am a bear because I’m hairy. So they joke about me mauling them and eating berries and all things bears do. This student also says I should bring in “haren cups”, this is how he refers to my homemade Reese’s Cups.

 photo 5 (1)

“Mr. Haren is a pretty cool guy, eh he’s a bear that likes zombies and doesn’t afraid of anything.”

Sadly, the above comment pretty much sums up my life. Except for centipedes; I hate those things.

Also, please note, I have never mauled a student in the face with my bear paws.

photo 2 (2) Another student trying to summarize my entire year of teaching into three non-teaching things.

photo 3 (1)

It’s a shame I made these anonymous or I would track this kid down.

photo 4 (1)

These students are really making me look bad. Maybe I shouldn’t post these…

photo 2  “Hey do you like math?”

“No why!”

photo 3  “Why not?”

“She made fun of my mom.”

photo 4“Math”

This is how it goes down in Newark. If you make fun of someone, they will fight you (i.e. you will “bang”).

photo 5 I’m not exactly sure why the student picked a cannon, but I like it.

photo

Student 1 - “Why are you taking a picture of this Mr. Haren”

Me - “Don’t worry about it.”

Student 1 - “That’s kind of creepy.”

Student 2 - “No, he just likes to show them to other teachers and laugh at us.”

Thank you Student 2 for understanding that I’m not a creep.

Student Drawings Vol. 6

Here are a few pictures to enjoy while I’m on Spring Break. Enjoy.

photo 2

A very clever picture.

photo 3

Found on a student’s binder. I like it but I’m not sure why Pacman looks stoned.

 photo 4

This is a fantastic picture. Apparently one of the art projects was to have each student pick a theme and create a Google logo for it. This student’s chose to depict animal cruelty. I think it is awesome and will try to find more to post.

photo 5

A man battling a …………mouth? and eyes? and laser?

photoA student got me with this note early in the school year.

Student Drawings Vol. 5

Here are a few entries. Enjoy.

This boy his missing his right arm, has a tentacle for his left and apparently has a weird eyelid on his left eye. Life is rough.
photo 2 (1)Luckily the dinosaur chasing me appears to only be a T-Rex, and as we all know, the T-Rex is overrated. Now if it was an Allosaurus, I’d be worried.
photo 2 It’s a meeeee Mario! (and Luigi! Stop stealing the spotlight bro.)
Little known fact, according to the Live Action Super Mario Bros movie Mario and Luigi’s last name is Mario. Mario Mario and Luigi Mario.
photo 3 A student was able to sum up the entirety of French culture in one small doodle of the Eiffel tower with a moustache and a beret.
photo “This is why 6 is afraid of 7”. I love it. Though, now that I think about it, it looks like 7 is walking backwards.

Student Drawings Vol. 4

Another big batch of pictures. Enjoy.

Starting off with some desk drawings. I find these incredibly annoying because the drawings make the desk look bad and students complain about them. However, they are fun to look at sometimes.photo (2)

Every rose has its thorn.

photo 3 (1)

Unicorn + Dinosaur = Unisarous.  If that’s not math, I don’t know what is. Oh wait. Probably the stuff I was teaching while some punk drew on my desk.

photo 2 (1)

So, I was happily reading the dialogue back and forth which culminated with “your face is lame”, when I came upon a realization that my class likes other classes of the same sex.

photo 5 (1)

One of my students documented her mood everyday. Monday = Yawn, Friday = It’s hot in here.

photo 2

I made a test and had extra space at the bottom, so I told students to draw me a picture. (In all honesty, I got this idea from another teacher, I wasn’t just fishing for new blog pictures.) This is a chemistry joke.

photo 4

A math equation made out of live numbers. Rwar. (Try saying rwar as opposed to rawr. It’s weird.)

photo 3

A clever pie graph.

photo (1)

This is my students making me think they enjoy math for a second and then destroying those thoughts in an instant.

photo 5

One of my students cleverly drew this on the board. The picture of a fish is made up of two number 2s.

photo

Another clever picture, one forward 3 and one backward 3 make 8.

photo 4 (1)

This was found in a Spanish book. Priceless.

Pi Day Poster Winner

I had my students make posters for Pi Day since it is coming up in a couple weeks. Most students did pictures of pie with some numbers written on it. This is one below is the definite winner. It is mathematically accurate by saying pi never ends, and it is hilarious. Unfortunately, the pi-eater is supposed to be me but the student assured me I'm not really that fat, it's just because of all the pies I have eaten.
